Basic Study

The basic sterility study is based on a series of tests to rule out the leading causes of sterility.

Basic Seminogram

It is used to count the number of sperm and their motility and morphology observed.

Gynaecological Ultrasound

This is an ultrasound test, conducted by the gynaecologist usually vaginally, which evaluates the uterus and endometrium and ovaries (size, number of antral follicles, etc).

Basal hormone analysis

Blood drawn between the 1st and 3rd day of the menstrual cycle is used to assess both ovarian reserve as hormonal alterations.

Hysterosalpingography

It is an imaging study conducted by the radiologist that inserts a contrast fluid through the cervix and, via X-rays, can evaluate the uterine cavity and the permeability of the fallopian tubes. This test is not necessary in all cases.

Of course, once the basics and according to the results or the medical history of the patient study, other tests depending on the specific case may be necessary.
