This recognises iGin’s commitment to helping achieve gender equality by promoting inclusive and sustainable economic development, fostering youth employment and promoting training and career growth opportunities.
iGin’s responsible management and socially committed practices have been recognised this week with the award of ‘Responsible Company’ at the Vizcaya SME of the Year Awards.
These awards, convened by the Banco Santander y la Cámara de Comercio de España, pretenden reconocer el desempeño y la labor de las pequeñas y medianas empresas como creadoras de empleo e impulsoras del desarrollo económico de la provincia.
The recognition highlights iGin’s commitment to the United Nations 2030 Development Agenda, which through Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) promueve la realización de acciones que contribuyan al bienestar de las personas y la prosperidad. Entre ellas, destaca la apuesta de iGin por contribuir a lograr la igualdad entre los géneros, promoviendo el crecimiento económico inclusivo y sostenible, fomentando el empleo de jóvenes e impulsando la económica local mediante oportunidades laborales y de formación.
At the award ceremony, and as a sign of this commitment, iGin’s Medical Director, Íñigo Davalillo, recalled that «we have 84% women in our workforce, with an average age of 32 years and 88% with permanent contracts.»
iGin has set itself the goal of making the company’s daily work contribute to changing the world to make it a more just, supportive, equitable and healthy place for all people. Thus, some of the SDGs to which the company is committed and to which it contributes through various actions are:
- SDG 3 – Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being: Investing in innovation and research that impacts good gynecological, sexual and reproductive health.
- SDG 5 – Achieve gender equality: Ensuring that company policies include the gender dimension and promoting a work culture based on equality. Facilitating and disseminating the importance of sexual health care and reproductive procedures directly aimed at women.
- SDG 8 – Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all: Promoting youth employment and training.
As part of its socially responsible agenda, iGin will continue to innovate and improve its procedures so that people and their future continue to take priority above all else.
