Security is one of the most important things in assisted reproduction. For this very reason, all of our treatments include the Matcher: technology dedicated to identification and traceability of biological samples, guaranteeing maximum control at each step of the process.
What is the Matcher?
Designed specifically for assisted reproduction clinics, the Matcher System is a state-of-the-art tool whose function is to avoid identification errors when handing biological material (eggs, sperm and embryos). This ensures that each sample is always assigned to the correct person, at each state of the treatment.
This computerized system used bar-coded labels or electronic tags to automatically check the identity match prior to any procedure, such as insemination, micro-insemination, vitrification or embryo transfer.
How does it work?
- Accurate identification: When starting treatment, a unique record of each patient's data is created. From then on, any treatment related samples are electronically linked to that identity.
- Real-time verification: In the laboratory, the system verifies that the sample data matches before each procedure is performed. If something does not match, the system automatically alerts and stops the process.
- Complete traceability: The entire route of each sample is recorded. This makes it possible to know at all times who did what, when and with which sample, which provides maximum transparency and confidence.
Benefits of its use
By using this system in all of our treatments, without any additional cost, there are numerous advantages:
- Maximum security: all possible errors related to sample identification is avoided
- Complete transparency: The patient and team have the peace of mind knowing that everything is controlled, recorded and supervised.
- Traceability at all times: From the collection of the samples, up to the embryo transfer, everything is documented.
- Trust in the process: know that the most advanced technology is being used gives the patient extra emotional peace of mind during treatment.
Here at IGIN, we are committed to medical and technological excellence. For this reason, we integrate state-of.the-art systems such as Matcher into our protocols without this entailing an added cost for our patients. We firmly believe that safety should not be optional, but part of the basis of any treatment.
